Ashley, a Year 8 pupil at our school, has achieved remarkable success in two recent dance competitions held in England. With over nine years of dance experience, Ashley, has demonstrated exceptional talent and dedication, earning several prestigious awards.
Ashley’s journey in dance began at the tender age of four, starting with ballet, contemporary, and jazz. By age ten, she discovered her passion for street dance, including hip-hop, house, locking, and popping. Currently, she trains with Home of the New Wave and 0161 Dance Company, where she is a valued team member. Her dance teachers describe her as a hardworking, respectful student with immense potential and passion for her dream.

The Soar Qualifiers, held in the Northwest, showcased Ash’s versatile dance skills and her ability to perform exceptionally well in various categories. Competing against many talented dancers, she secured first place in four categories and top positions in others, highlighting her dedication and skill.

At the StandOut UK Ultimate Championships, Ash continued to impress, achieving first place in multiple categories and earning the prestigious CYD Special Shoutout Award. This award is particularly notable as it highlights the top three dancers of the day from a pool of over 80 participants, with 12 dancers receiving nominations from four judges.
Training with the esteemed Home of the New Wave and 0161 Dance Company has provided Ashley with opportunities to refine her skills and compete at high levels as shown in the results of her last two competitions. Her dance teachers consistently praise her for her hard work, respectfulness, and the potential they see in her.
Ashley's success is a source of pride not just for her, but for her family, friends, and school community. She has expressed gratitude for the support she has received from her dance teachers, family, and friends, which has been instrumental in her journey.
